Ageing in barrels:
Luigi Bosca Icono has a total of 18 months of ageing in barrels. First, each variety is aged separately in new oak barrels of the Allier forests for six months. Once the blend is done, it is aged for another 12 months in new French oak barrels. Then it is bottled without flltering.
Tasting Notes:
Luigi Bosca Icono is garnet wth deep dark nuances. The excellent maturity of the grapes can be perceived in the nose. Complex bouquet of red jam, spices, violets, hazelnuts, black truffles and coffee, while the pesence of toasty hints contributed by oak create an effective harmony. Juicy and intense in the mouth, with floral flavors of licorice and a touch of sweetness. Aftertaste with reminiscence of well cured ham and leather. Mature tannins wth the right dry matter to make it deep and ample on the palate. Balanced acidity that contributes freshness and nerve.
